Trade Jam privacy disclosure

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Trade Jam is a hackathon release for discovering reciprocal collectible trades and testing non-custodial settlement on Solana Devnet.

Data the app uses

When a user connects a wallet, the app reads the public wallet address and public onchain ownership data needed to display eligible assets and validate a proposed exchange. The wallet keeps the user's private keys and asks the user to approve signatures.

The app may request camera access when the user chooses to scan a room QR code. Camera frames are used on the device to read that code and are not uploaded by Trade Jam.

Trade Jam queries Collector Crypt's public APIs for collectible metadata, images, grading details, insured values, active asking prices, and wallet inventory. Those requests may disclose the searched term or public wallet address to the API provider under its own privacy practices.

Room data

The room relay receives a temporary client identifier, room code, public wallet address when connected, and only the asset identifiers the user deliberately selects for that room. It does not need the user's full collection or private keys. For a proposed Devnet exchange, it also receives the transaction, each wallet's transaction signature, and the resulting public transaction identifier. Room codes identify shared rooms; they do not authenticate participants or provide private access controls.

The current hackathon relay keeps room state in memory with a 15-minute participant presence window and two-hour room inactivity window; process restarts clear rooms. It has no user account system or analytics pipeline. The hosted hackathon relay is served at https://relay.tradejam.xyz through Cloudflare. Hosting and proxy providers may retain operational request metadata under their own policies. We do not log wallet signatures or transaction bodies.

Blockchain data

Signed Solana transactions and public wallet addresses may become permanently visible on the public blockchain. Devnet data is public even though it has no mainnet value.

Custody and signatures

Trade Jam does not receive wallet seed phrases or private keys and does not hold either side's assets. A signed trade-intent message records interest but cannot move assets. For the supported atomic exchange, each owner signs the same transaction through their wallet.

Storage on the device

The app stores temporary preferences, room identity, demo state, and selected collectible identifiers in local application storage. It also saves a room code and trade reference scoped to the connected wallet and relay endpoint for restart recovery. This reference does not contain transaction bytes, transaction signatures or cached intent consent. Resuming fetches current trade state again; it does not automatically request a wallet signature or send a transaction. Completed exchanges can be saved in a wallet-scoped Devnet history containing up to 100 public transaction identifiers, owner addresses, mint addresses, finalized times and slots. These records do not contain executable transactions, wallet approval signatures, private keys or restored consent. Viewing a receipt rechecks its original finalized transaction through Solana RPC; it does not depend on current holdings or the temporary room relay. Manual recovery sends the entered public transaction identifier to the RPC provider. Removing the app clears this local data.
